Old Fashioned Oatmeal Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Cup Unsalted Butter, Softened at room temp.
  • 1 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup White Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 2 Cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 Cups OLD FASHIONED WHOLE ROLLED OATS
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 tsp Salt

Instructions
 

  • Turn oven to 350 F
  • Place butter in bowl. Add sugars , eggs and vanilla flavouring
  • Beat on medium speed until smooth and well mixed.
  • Add the rest of the dry ingredients to the batter
  • Stir with mixing spoon until moist
  • Cut parchment paper and place on cookie sheets
  • Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls on cookie sheets
  • Bake on the centre rack in the oven for 8-10 minutes
  • Remove the cookie sheet on the wire rack
  • Let stand for 2 minutes before removing cookies with pancake lifter to the waxed paper on the counter.
  • Cool the cookies completely in an air tight container with a lid
  • Makes approx. 3 doz.

Notes

Optional extra ingredients to add to your classic old fashioned oatmeal cookies include, 1 cup of the following
  • Dried Cranberries
  • Chopped Walnuts or Pecans
  • White Chocolate
  • Half Cup White Chocolate/Half Cup Dried Cranberries
  • Chocolate Chips
  • Skor Bits
  • Candy coated chocolate pieces
  • Raisins
