Freezing Apple Slices

Equipment

  • apple peeler/corer
  • Pairing Knife
  • Large Bowl or Pot
  • Baking Sheets
  • parchment paper
  • Freezer
  • Freezer Bags

Materials

  • Abundance of Apples Green Apples freeze well, but can be bitter and less sweet than red apples
  • 1 tbsp salt Per 4 cups of warm water
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice Per 4 cups of warm water

Instructions

  • Wash, peel and core apples
  • Slice rounds into perfect bite size pieces with baking in mind
  • Place apple slices lemon salt water bath for five minutes
  • Drain
  • Lay on parchment paper lined baking sheet
  • flash freeze until fully frozen
  • Place apple slices into freezer bags pushing as much air out as possible
  • Label and add to freezer for long term storage ( up to one year )
