Homemade hand sanitizer, using this recipe only calls for a few ingredients that you most likely have around the house.

RUBBING ALCOHOL

Rubbing alcohol is commonly found in households as it has many uses including for cleaning and disinfectant purposes. You can also take advantage of its antiseptic and cooling purposes on the skin in small amounts.

ALOE VERA

Aloe vera, is used as a moisturizer and also typically is used for sunburns an to calm skin. It comes from the Aloe succulent plant that grows in desserts. IS ALCOHOL FREE HAND SANITIZER EFFECTIVE?

Some recipes are alcohol free. Alcohol I know to be able to kill most germs. one alcohol free hand sanitizers contain ingredients that can reduce microbes but are less effective than alcohol.

Hand Sanitizers containing alcohol kill most material, and fungi and stop some viruses. Alcohol rub sanitizers containing at least 70% alcohol ( mainly ethyl alcohol) kill 99.9% of the material on hands 30 second after after application.

IS SOAP BETTER THAN HAND SANITIZER?

Soap and water are more effective than hand sanitizers at removing certain kinds of germs. Hand sanitizers may also not be as effective when hands are visibly dirty or greasy.

HAND SANITIZER RECIPE

Learn how to make your own homemade Hand Sanitizer with this quick and easy handmade hand sanitizer recipe using alcohol, essential oils and aloe vera all ingredients you should have around the house!

Equipment

  • funnel
  • glass measuring cup
  • Mason Jar or Liquid Soap Dispenser

Materials

  • 2/3 Cup Rubbing Alcohol
  • 1/2 Cup Aloe Vera Jel
  • 10 drops Lavender Oil

Instructions

  • Measure the rubbing alcohol and Aloe vera using a liquid measuring glass
  • Place funnel over the soap dispenser or mason jar
  • Pour rubbing alcohol and aloe vera through the funnel into container
  • Remove funnell and add a few drops of Lavender Oil

Notes

Other Essential Oil Combinations that provide a calming, antibacterial affect are highly recommended as alternatives for this easy diy recipe.
