Caramel Apple Cheesecake Bars are a drool worthy summer and fall desert treat that your guests are going to ask you for the recipe upon first bite. Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered and this recipe is beyond simple.
CARAMEL APPLE CHEESECAKE BARS RECIPE
I love baking with apples, come harvest season I preserve, can and prepare as many apples that I can get my hands on! Apples are by far my favourite ingredient in all baking and roast dishes.
These apple cheesecake bars are a great desert recipe to show off your baking skills ( “skills” ) to at your next fall dinner party or summer barbecue. They are easy to make and taste delicious.
I created this recipe when I was snacking on a jar of condensed milk. I don’t know what it is about condensed milk, but it’s amazing! I used what I had in the cupboards to use it up before I went and ate the whole jar 😉
The crunchy cookie gram cracker base layer, the sweet and subtle sweet cheesecake and the apple pie goodness and caramel on top is devine. I can’t help but be proud of what I created to share with you!
But enough drool worthy chatter about this recipe, let’s just get down to it so you can start baking these tasty treats and sampling them for yourself.
METHOD
STEP ONE: Prepare Apples
Green Granny Smith apples are a great go to apple for baking, they are tart and sweet and can easily be found at your nearest grocery store. But I do highly suggest a heirloom apple that grows local in your area. Buying apples should be a crime, especially where I live, apples grow everywhere.
Peel, core and chop apples, mix with cinnamon sugar and set aside.
This Apple Pie Filling recipe also works wonders in this recipe and is what I used in the images below.
STEP TWO: Prepare cookie base
Mix the gram crumbs and butter together, press into the bottom of a 8×10 cake baking pan and bake for 10 minutes.
STEP THREE: Prepare cheesecake layer
In the meantime prepare the cheesecake layer. Beat the cream cheese and sugar together. Then mix in the vanilla and egg slowly in a large bowl or mixer.
STEP FOUR: Layer the cheese cake bar
Pour the cheesecake layer on top of the cookie base and top with cinnamon, brown sugar covered sliced apple pieces. Top by pouring a can of condensed milk on top of the caramel apple cheesecake bar.
The brown sugar, cinnamon, apples and condensed milk will make a tasty delicious topping on the cheesecake resembling the caramel apples you know so well at the fair.
STEP FIVE: Bake
Bake the caramel apple cheesecake bar in an oven set to 350F for 30 minutes or until top has browned and isn’t wiggling in the baking pan.
STEP SIX: Cool
Cool the caramel apple cheesecake bar and store in the refrigerator for three hours or overnight before serving! This will help with cutting the bars and keeping their shape for better presentation.
