When living a simple life on the homestead, one of the most prolific crops you should plant are seeds of positivity. As a beginner homesteader this might just be the most important skill you learn when beginning a life of self sufficiency.
In this post I’ll share with you tips on how to attract abundance in your life as a beginner homesteader.
How do you grow high yields, an overflowing amount of crops, and a harvest worth sharing? In life, not just your garden.
Homesteading is difficult. Choosing to live a simpler life like our grandparents were raised isn’t always necessary easy. When the world throws challenges are way or situations arise that feel out of our control and impact our day to day its easy to find yourself at the Mc Donalds drive thru.
But before you throw in the towel, or the shovel I should say I want to share with you a quick story.
Living a simpler life on the homestead, raising and growing your own food and preparing for cold winter months is thrilling but also tough. I don’t lie about the hardwork that comes with it.
But you know, before the world went digital and women started the nine to five life, homesteading wasn’t a choice. It was a way of life.
My nana didn’t ever have much of anything except for a large home filled with children. She tells me when life gets you down, she tells me that we’re fortunate. Thats her positive affirmation that gets her through tough times. And you know what, she’s very loved and so fortunate.
Positive Affirmations for Women
When living a simple life on the homestead it’s easy to get overwhelmed by your goals, especially as a beginner. It’s also very easy to get caught in the routines of the day to day with more home chores and tasks than the average person.
It’s easy to feel that every day is the same, you wake up, do the chores, go to work, care for the family, make and eat dinner, do some more chores and then go back to bed. Some people call this the day to day grind and it’s easy to lose and excitement for it all.
This is where positive affirmations come in. Positive affirmations can help change your life by giving yourself a positive outlook on situations – and life in general.
Using positive affirmations will allow you to have more confidence in yourself and take control of how your day goes! The next time something happens that stresses you out or makes you feel anxious, try using an affirmation such as “I am in control of my life.”
What are positive affirmations?
Affirmations are positive statements that can help you build confidence, overcome self-sabotaging thoughts and enjoy the journey in meeting goals and dreams. They can even help you calm down in stressful situations and see things in a new light.
Simply put, positive affirmations are statements you make to yourself throughout the day that will give you a boost of confidence and energy that allows you to keep doing those day to day tasks that feed your soul.
Positive affirmations can help you work through negative thoughts and reach your goals. They’re simple to say, and they’ll change the way you think about yourself – as well as how others see you!
SHARING IS CARING
Affirmations are a great tool for self-improvement because of their ability to break down our limiting beliefs. By repeating these positive statements often, we gain confidence in ourselves which allows us a greater chance at success.
Self-affirmation is an empowering tool for many people who have faced difficult circumstances in their lives. It’s something to be used every single day, like any other habit such as brushing your teeth.
Affirmations are a form of self-care. We all know it’s important to make time for self-care every day, but do we take the time to do it?
When you are feeling frazzled, write down what is going on in your mind and how it makes you feel using your affirmation journal as a guide. Affirmations can help create clarity from the chaos of life that gets us all sometimes!
There are many ways to incorporate affirmations into your daily life. Finding the words that help you overcome challenges and see the world in a new light will help you be your best self, from morning to night and season to season. Whatever life hands you, be prepared with some of these helpful habits for including affirmations into your everyday life
Start an Affirmation Journal.
Many people keep a diary, and this is not much different. An affirmation journal is a great way to start or end each day with a five to ten minute reflection on a common affirmation. One way to start an affirmation journal is to choose a quick printable with affirmations at the top of every page to reflect and focus on.
You could ask yourself, what does this affirmation mean to me and how could it help me today and in the future.
Once you’ve gotten into a routine with a 30 day affirmation journal, start making it more powerful by writing down an affirmation each day that you are working on. This is a helpful way to focus on one thing at a time.
See our Affirmations Journal Here as a starting off point.
Visualize each Affirmation.
Visualize that the affirmation has already come true for you. See yourself acting and thinking in the manner described in the affirmation, giving your subconscious mind an indication of what is to happen next.
Acting as though it is true provides you with a mental power to make what’s been visualized come into fruition.
Say it out loud.
Stand in front of a mirror and repeat the affirmation out loud every day. The more you speak positively to yourself out loud, the easier it is to believe what you are saying. It’s important to speak with conviction: say it as if it is true already, even if it is not.
It may feel awkward at first, speaking to yourself in front of the mirror and all. If you make it a habit, you will find it gets easier as time goes on. You can do it while getting ready in the morning, or while you’re doing your nighttime routine – or both!
Try stepping stone affirmations.
Instead of starting with an affirmation that may seem out of your reach, think of the steps it will take to get to that end result. For example, if your end goal is to beat your negative outlook in life and be happy every single day, it may feel impossible to do that at this moment.
However, you can work on yourself in smaller steps and use an affirmation like I choose to see the positive in the world. Saying that doesn’t magically take your negative thoughts away, but it helps you take a step in the right direction towards achieving happiness.
Make your own affirmations.
You can start off using other people’s affirmations, but make sure that they feel personal to you. What someone else values may not be the same as what you value, and by reading their affirmations, you may not get the same benefit from them.
Try changing some of your affirmations and including words that are more personal to you. What do you value? Include those values in your affirmation statements.
Speak affirmations to yourself often.
Even when you can’t be in front of a mirror or speaking affirmations out loud, you can think them. Thinking affirmations is not a replacement for saying them to yourself out loud, like we talked about earlier, but it can be a reinforcer to use throughout the day.
When a stressful situation arises, I say “I can handle this” and I keep repeating it as I work on my breathing. This immediately gives me perspective on the situation and reminds me that whatever it is, it’s most likely just a blip on the radar and I can breathe through it.
There’s no limit to the amount of times you say affirmations each day. You may even want to write or type some of them up and place them around your home to embed the affirmations even deeper into your subconscious.
Incorporate your goals into affirmations.
We’re always working towards goals either in our personal or professional lives, or both. Incorporating those goals into your daily affirmations can actually make those goals more achievable!
“I am strong and capable” is an affirmation you can use while trying to DIY your homestead. Repeating this affirmation as you’re deciding what to eat for breakfast can actually help you make better, healthier choices.
“I am a gardener” is an affirmation that may feel like a complete lie if you haven’t even started gardening yet and you have a black thumb. But guess what? Telling yourself you are a gardener can even help you learn, grow and develop as one that grows food and plants.
When you believe it, you can achieve it.
