HOW TO PRESERVE PUMPKINS

Pumpkins are actually a shockingly easy vegetable to preserve and use all year long. There’s a reason why Pumpkin is the harvest vegetable that reigns almighty in the fall but the fun doesn’t have to come to an end the day after Halloween.

Actually there are many ways that you can extend the life and value of your halloween pumpkins well into November for later use by preserving them.

If you choose to preserve your pumpkin after the halloween festivities it’s important to bring it in at the end of the trick or treating so that it doesn’t get hit with a cold frost. ( or worse end up thrown on the road or your house!)

Also if you’re going to preserve your pumpkin then use a battery operated tea light inside instead of a candle. Preserving a pumpkin that has wax and soot on the inside flesh of the pumpkin is not healthy or recommended. (Shocking, I know! )

There you go, 6 of my favourite things to do with my pumpkins after halloween. Other things could include lining them up and shooting them, smashing them when having a bad day or putting it on your head and scaring your neighbour.
