Recently I was putting together a list of spring printables, and I came across this really cool collection of old botanical apple studies; hand-drawn or painted, detailed images from the 1800’s forward.
The Apple (Malus communism) are from Traite des Arbres et Arbustes que l’on cultive en France en pleine terre (1801-1819) by Pierre-Joseph Redoute’. These original images from from the New York Public Library and are enhanced by raw pixel.
As soon as I saw these vintage botanical apple photo’s I knew I wanted to display them in my farmhouse kitchen. Since planting our apple orchard, I just can’t get enough of them!
APPLE PRINTABLE DISPLAY IDEAS
I couldn’t just print them and stick them on the wall. I needed to find a beautiful way of displaying them for all to see. A quick easy way would be to frame these 5 x 7 prints and mat them with burlap.
Lately, my new favourite DIY has been photo transferring using the photo transfer medium from Country Chic Paints, a local home decor paint company. I can’t get enough of this beautiful hanger below! Why not do the same with the apple prints?
Stay tuned as I use these prints to photo transfer onto wooden apple crates! Hello Apple season:)
